The University of Kansas (KU) is a tier-one, public research university with an enrollment of more than 30,000 students including 1,774 International students from over 100 countries. KU has fourteen academic departments and offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees in over 200 major areas of study. Popular undergraduate majors include Engineering, Business, Biological Sciences, Journalism and Mass Communications, Psychology, and Architecture. KU students also enjoy research, internships, study abroad, and other educational enrichment opportunities. KU’s alumni include world leaders, CEOs, inventors, astronauts, Nobel Prize winners, and international sports and entertainment celebrities. Additionally, KU’s Applied English Center (AEC) is one of the oldest intensive English programs in the US. The AEC offers cross-cultural advising to help with life adjustment questions, tutoring for homework support, and group conversation settings to enhance students’ college experience.
